The primary purpose of
Ferguson Medical Group is to meet the medical needs of the people who
reside in the area.
New Patients
When you indicate
which physician you wish to see, we will make every effort for you to see
that particular doctor. If circumstances are such that you are unable to
see that physician, we will indicate physicians whose specialties include
the condition for which you are seeking treatment. For this reason, it is
sometimes necessary that the receptionist ask you the general nature of
your visit. Of course, such information will be kept strictly confidential.
If your medical problems need immediate attention, we have personnel
available who can assist you.
New patients should
plan to arrive 30 minutes early for your first appointment at the Clinic to
allow time for registration. Registration may be completed at the first
floor Admissions desk. The Admissions Clerk will direct you to the
appropriate reception desk once registration is completed.
Referral Patients
Clinic patients, when
necessary, are referred from one doctor to another for consultation or
specialized care. The doctor or nurse handles these referrals. If your
physician is not a Clinic practitioner, and has referred you to one of our
physicians, your doctor or nurse will make the arrangements. However, it is
advised the patient contact the reception desk within the Clinic to which
they've been referred to find out if any special preparations are necessary
for the appointment.
Appointments
Appointments are made
according to each physician's office schedule. Since all physicians are not
present at all times, it is important you call ahead for an appointment. In
order to obtain an appointment time convenient for you, make your
appointment well in advance of the time that you wish to see the doctor.
The easiest way is to make your appointment as you leave from a previous
visit. Registered patients should go directly to the reception desk of the
department in which the appointment is scheduled. Advise the receptionist
you have arrived and present at every appointment your insurance or medical
assistance card that you use. If there have been any changes in address,
phone number, marital status, etc. since your last visit, please inform
your receptionist at the time you check in.
Work-In
Appointments
If a patient needs to
see a physician on an immediate or urgent basis and does not have a prior
appointment, it is wise to call the reception desk of your physician and
tell them you are calling about an appointment for that day. the doctor's
receptionist will be able to give you an idea of the patient load for the
day and when a good time would be for you to come. When the receptionist
gives you a time, it is not an appointment, but a good time to come for you
to be worked into the doctor's schedule. Every effort will be made for you
to be seen in the course of the day.
Cancellations
If you find it
necessary to cancel an appointment, please do so well enough in advance to
enable us to use your scheduled time for another patient. When canceling an
appointment, please give the name of your physician, the date and time of
your appointment.
